LAMP WEDGIE
Wedgies Wedgie Jr's Pro-Boxer Octahex Lamp Clamp Home

The Lamp Wedgie followed closely on the heels of our first fixtures since crafters have always had a need to support a lampshade while soldering. The nice thing about it is it's simplicity. It's faced with a pad of Wedgie Jr. material and can be anchored easily to your worksurface or a simple board with the hardware included in the package. When used in conjunction with a pair of Wedgies or Wedgie Jr's, your lampshade will have a very stable, 3 point support on three slip resistant points. What could be better? Well, for one thing, you'll have two hands free to do your soldering.

The leftmost photo shows a typical panel lampshade in position for soldering (and finish soldering) the seam from the outside.
The next three photos show a 3 tier lampshade set in position for soldering:
Left - the inside of the vertical seam for the bottom skirt pieces and the outside of the vertical seam for the top skirt pieces (although you can't see this seam in the picture)
Center - the horizontal seams for the outside of the crown to panel and the skirt to panel and the inside of the skirt to panel seam resting on the Wedgies
Right - This one is subtle. The lampshade is positioned to solder the outside of the seam attaching two crown pieces together. That's the seam that's horizontal.
There are many more ways to position this shade to solder all the seams. These are just a few. Bear in mind you'll always have two hands free to solder.
