THE OCTAHEX

Once the die was cast with the Pro-Boxer, the Octahex was really something that almost designed itself. It's used for making all sorts of things with 6 or 8 vertical sides. A friend of ours uses one to make large, clear glass boxes to display taxidermy pieces.
The two sets of sides are marked "OCTA" for 8 sided boxes (octagons) and "HEX" for 6 sided boxes (hexagons)
The Octahex works the same way as the Pro-Boxer. Simply position the sides of your box against the appropriate sides of your fixture and slide them together until the inside edges align. (If there's a gap, it just means that your sides are not cut square) Tack them together on the top and the outside center of the seam. Slide the tacked pieces to place the last piece added against the side of the fixture, press a new box side against the other side of the fixture, slide them together until the inside edges align, and tack again. Repeat this until all sides are tacked. Then set the base in position, tack it to the center of each side, and your six or eight sided box is perfectly stable.
Again, you can then set your project on a set of Wedgies or Wedgie Jr's to position and hold any seam you want to solder horizontally.
When we attended the AGSA show in St. Louis in 1994 we had a tiny booth way in the back of the show. We were showing just 3 products: The Wedgies, the Pro-Boxer, and the Octahex. For 3 days we had people standing two and three deep trying to get a look at what they could do with these tools. That's when we knew we were filling a niche in the world of stained glass.
